We all know the holidays can be tough. All those sweet treats floating around! So tempting!! I have such a sweet tooth, but the worst thing I could do for myself, is lie about counting my calories. I use an app on my phone called My Fitness Pal & it tracks your calories. It's really cool because you can connect with friends on it & see how they're doing, get meal ideas, give notes of encouragement, etc... But, sometimes I catch myself thinking, "oh man, I shouldn't have had that" & really what I'm thinking is "oh man, I don't want my friends to see I just ate that"
The worst thing you can do is have a piece of cake....and just not count that piece of cake. Because really, you're not helping yourself. So .... good, bad, ugly, be honest with yourself so all the work you do won't be for nothing.
Also -- I've discovered that my new office.... is terrible for my diet. They cater lunch every Friday & this week because it's our month end... they're ordering lunch today, tomorrow & Wednesday... I guess the one up side is that they also give me a free gym membership lol so I should start using that on my lunch break. I go to the gym now obviously but it would be nice to just go walk for a little while on the treadmill just to get me moving during lunch too :) why not burn more calories? I'm just going to sit in the game room anyways lol
So... moral of the story... keep yourself on track by being honest with yourself. It's ok to have that piece of cake if you want it. Just make sure you're not lieing about how well you're doing, otherwise you're setting yourself up for a big let down when you dont get the results you want.
